The wonder and reverence that Boulder’s Dr. Oakleigh Thorne II sees in the natural world has been his lifelong guide. He created non-profit organizations such as Thorne Films, the Thorne Ecological Institute and the Thorne Nature Experience, and achieved success through community action long before the EPA and the modern environmental movement.

He has directly contributed to the environmental education of thousands of students, and they are his enduring legacy.
